I enter the petrol bunk and go near one of the pumps to fill petrol in my bike.
The attendant asks me, "How much, sir?" Note: He stands on my right as the petrol dispensing machine is there.
I reply, "Rs. 200". Note: I have opened the petrol tank of the bike after my reply.
Simultaneously, another attendant comes on my left. He too asks me the same question the other guy asked. "How much, sir?"
I reply again to him. "Rs. 200". Note: Now I am turning left so that I'm not seeing the display when the first attendant is dispensing petrol.
Some eye-to-eye 'communication' goes on between them. Then something happens.
Now, when I turn right, "The Great Indian Petrol Bunk Trick" has happened. It's Rs. 50 and 00.00 LTRS on the display. This takes just 1-2 seconds.
Both of them say, "What Sir, you should have told initially itself. Already petrol for Rs. 50 is filled".
Now, they say together. "Sir, we'll fill petrol for Rs. 150 now". Note: They know the Math.
Here ends the "The Great Indian Petrol Bunk Trick".
Now, do you think I lost Rs. 50? No.
What can you do?
Just raise the voice. And tell them that you won't give the money, if they don't fill for Rs. 200. And just be adamant. As simple as that. They yield after some time. Problem solved.
So, if you want a Moral of the story: Be careful when you spend your money, even if you are earning a fortune.
PS. I'm not earning a fortune!
Advanced Moral of the Story: You are tricked/conned only due to your own faults. So just be careful, ALWAYS!
