Hating & Loving Bangalore

After almost 4 years now in Bangalore, I don't claim myself a Bangalorean. I can't even claim myself belong to my hometown, as it has changed a lot now. I really don't know where do I belong now. I think, I'm lost somewhere.

Anyway, I have my reasons to hate and love this city. These are just personal opinions. Nothing meant to offend anyone.

I hate Bangalore because of the apathy of the people I see around me. Every newbie here claims he/she is a Bangalorean; but their attitude towards the city in one word. Irresponsible.
I hate Bangalore because of disconnect between sections of society which is painful and so alarming.
I hate Bangalore because even when it’s the capital of the state, it’s still someone else’s.
I hate Bangalore when it rains. A walk on any road will tell you why.  The city still has a long way to go.
I hate Bangalore because of the hostility I see in public life; from the local people as well as many who are now being settled here.

I love Bangalore because it is fast becoming a microcosm of India, although withstanding numerous issues.
I love Bangalore because of Vidhan Soudha, an architectural marvel, Lalbagh, and such numerous landmarks.
I love Bangalore because I started working here and now I’m at one of the premier educational institutions in India.
I love Bangalore because of its warm welcome. I never saw anyone facing difficulty to settle down here.
I love Bangalore because of its salubrious climate, although Summer is a but tough this year.
I love Bangalore because of a reason which is very close to my heart. I won’t tell anyone. ;)

The 'hate' reasons can be easily turned into "love" reasons, if all involved parties do the right things.

And, any day if you ask me if I hate or love this city. I love Bangalore.

Would that be a certain someone Manny?????
Yeah, I know you expected a comment like this; but couldn't resist! No, I'm not asking you to spill the beans!

As for the reasons you hate B'lore; I completely empathize. I feel the same way about my home town.

Cheers!

And about the city, it's about some changes in the administration and people's attitudes. As simple as that.

A little mystery is good for the soul! Whatever! And I won't spill the beans, anyway. ;)

"... a reason very close to my heart." hmmm...

How come there aren't any poems being written on it? A little romanticism could be enthralling [:P]

@little by little , bit by bit
If you meant me writing a poem, you are at the wrong place. I never tried and don't want to try. :)
