I agree. The header will attract readers. If you are a woman, you are thinking.............No. I really don’t know. If you are man, I can see a bit happy chauvinistic soul. Anyway, I’ll come to the point. I’m not saying a final word here. These are just random observations. I don’t deny influences, by the way. But, these are some honest thoughts, trying to find some answers to the question above.
I have to admit that I became conscious about the existence of women only when I realized my own sexuality. Then, it was one of the most fascinating things. And still continues to be. I couldn’t believe for some time that biology classes can be so interesting. Then I came to know about the battle of the sexes. I realized one thing. The sexuality element is evident when a man and woman are together in question.
The high presence of female anatomy in media, art forms, advertisements etc had always been and continues to be so perplexing. Even after hell lot of achievements and having powerful women rulers and premiers, I find that a woman is looked through the “object” lens and the talks revolve around the vital statistics, sometimes too often. And some find it still comfortable only when women are shown secondary to men. Is it because this is still a world that is having men at the helm of affairs? Or is it because we always tend to believe that men are the ones who still pull the strings? I clearly don’t have an answer here. It sounds too relative, too subjective.
I really love to discuss and talk anything and everything with any person, feels always interested if it's with a woman as I think they have different pattern (please don't ask me about it!) of observations and thoughts. But I have found the scope is always limited. The problem is that most of the times, she is not capable enough. Or I was mistaken that she is not capable enough, because of the age old premonitions that are so deeply rooted. Or may be I or we fail to break the ‘barrier’. Anyway, in serious matters, she doesn’t have a chance to be counted as a potential candidate. A Mandira Bedi is still there after 6-7 years, only to add spice and glamour to the “serious” matters of cricket, a Hillary Clinton is still evaluated based on the way she dress and the examples are several.
I don’t deny the fact that women are changing more than men in any culture or in any region. But still what makes us vest all our burdens like morality, cultural values etc on women? I believe that culture and morality is a myth. Or in simple terms, b***s***. But at the end of the day, I tend to think that “Prevention is better than Cure” when some wrong happens. What makes me think so? I really can’t find out.
I’m really unclear why the world is so, I’m so. I don’t have answers, but have a lot of questions. Is it the nature’s law? Or is it the interpretation of nature’s law? Is it the whole system makes me feeling so? Or is it that I don’t change? Or is that I’m not able to change? Or is that I’m not allowed to change? I’m “clearly confused”. I fail to find answers. But I'm not lost.

I couldn't stop smiling!

Just an update on this "middle-finger" display:
The matter is that some of the areas that were included in the third phase of polls had panchayat or municipal elections, a few months earlier. So EC decided to go for the left hand middle finger for the parliamentary elections as the forefinger was already used. EC confirms it too after such displays (I think prominent being the above pic!).
Anyway, the "middle-finger" issue has evoked responses ranging from outrage to humour among voters. :)
So, correcting myself, it's not at all stupid, but it's funny. :)
