“Single” status has its own advantages!!

I was doing something (work only!!) at my cubicle. And the cell phone rings. An unknown number with a pattern, which is surely a promotion call from a bank or Country Club or ………on the other side....definitely a "She".

“Sir. I’m calling from #@$%^$& bank. You have been selected for a complimentary offer, a trip to Goa for 3 days and 3 nights, which is being offered to you as you were short listed from the lucky draw, in which you would have happened to participate while you were in a mall in Bangalore.” *Deep Breath*

.......(no reply from me)

She increased her voice. “Are you still there…………SIR (angry??)????”. I hope the ear piece of my cell, still works.

Upon hearing my soft “Yes”, she went on. “Sir, this can availed up to even four members of your family and a lot of privileges also come with the package……….”

She went on. I didn’t hear what she further said. But some time later, she asked, slowly and loudly, “So, to avail this………*pause*………are you married, sir?? ”

“No”

“Ouch!!!! (I didn’t do any wrong….!) So can you recommend any of your friends who are married, for this OFFER?”

“But even my friends are all bachelors.”

*sigh*…….a pause…..*sigh*……. “Ok Sir. Thank You”

Hung up.

What if laws are there? They too have to meet the targets and are forced to do.
